As I work on completing my first novel—a multi-perspective narrative about a Texas family whose coal-miner patriarch is trapped underground following a sudden rockfall—I hope to a hone a writing style that is marked by creative decisiveness, tonal distinction, and structural precision.

By writing work that is in conversation with the protean nature of identity, I aim to deepen—and by deepen, I mean complicate—our personal understandings of family, survival, intimacy, womanhood, sexuality, autonomy, and moral ambiguity.
