Jenna Lyles is a multi-genre writer from Jacksonville, FL. Currently, she is a McNair Fellow and MFA candidate at the University of Alabama, where she teaches creative writing and serves as an assistant editor for Black Warrior Review.
She writes poetry, prose, and screenplays, and while most of her work features a comedic bent, she considers herself a full-time lyricist. Her work is typically in conversation with race, sexuality, and the protean nature of relationships—those both real and fictionalized.
Themes found throughout her work include: humor, family, taboo, moral ambiguity, longing and desire.
Presently, Jenna is working on: a television series, a poetry chapbook, and a collection of short fiction stories.
